SERDANG, June 19 - In an effort to empower students for their final examinations, the Alumni Chapter of YOSH at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has taken proactive steps to organise a coffee talk session titled "Chapter YOSH Coffee Talk: Success Code" with UPM Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic & International), Prof. Dr. Ismi Arif Ismail.

The coffee talk session, themed "Preparation for Final Examinations", aimed to motivate students, who will be sitting for their final examinations of Semester II, 2022/2023 Academic Session.

Prof. Dr. Ismi Arif Ismail said maintaining a balance between academics, co-curricular activities, and social life is important to develop students' IQ and EQ, which will benefit the country in the future.

"Success in life as a student or a graduate in the future will all dwell on the development of a well-rounded individual or ‘insan kamil’. Balancing academics, co-curricular activities, and social life is crucial," he said.

The programme was organised in collaboration with the Student Representative Council (MPP) of UPM.

YOSH UPM Alumni Chapter advisor, Dr. Mohd Mursyid Arshad, said students should remain enthusiastic and strive to do their best in the final examinations.

"Excellence is not merely reflected in academic transcript, but students should also excel in terms of character, morals, and values as these are the criteria employers seek in the present time," he said.

UPM Class of 2022 alumnus with a Bachelor of Science in Physics with Honours from the Faculty of Science, UPM, Amzar Khalili, said students may experience stress while preparing for examinations.

"Do not give up on your dreams, and most importantly, remain calm, be determined to do your best, and seek assistance from academic advisors if you have difficulty understanding certain topics," he said.

UPM MPP Deputy Vice President, Umairah Afifah, expressed her hope that the programme would benefit students by keeping them motivated and inspired to face the upcoming final examinations.

"I would like to express my gratitude to the Deputy Vice Chancellor and YOSH UPM Alumni Chapter for their concern regarding students' well-being and for organising such an inspiring programme," she said. – UPM
