SERDANG, Mar 19 - “If you lose your way, lean upon your beloved family.” These were the words upheld by Mohamed Azli Mohamed Lazim, a maiden graduate of the Master of Tropical Urban Design programme, at the 45th Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Convocation Ceremony.

Mohamed Azli, 47, said being infected with COVID-19 had caused him to lose focus, and he was unable to complete assignments given by his lecturers to the extent that he had to request a postponement for presentations and submission of assignments.

He added that every one of his immediate family members, including his wife and children, was infected with COVID-19 in January 2021, and this ensued in him taking over the house chore as his wife was still unfit.

"For me, my family has motivated me to continue facing challenges until I managed to receive a master’s degree today," he said.

At present, Mohamed Azli, who also holds the title of Technologist (Ts) from the Malaysian Board of Technologists (MBOT), plans to continue his studies at the PhD level. - UPM
