STUDENT MOBILITY

UPM received an increasing number of mobility students coming in and out from the university over the years.The mobility programme in UPM began in late 1990’s with only a few students participated in the program mainly to conduct their practical training and research in the field of science and technology such as Veterinary Medicine. Now, UPM has more than 190 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to foster student mobility programmes with universities from all over the world, and each year, hundreds of international students come to UPM from different parts of the world.

INBOUND MOBILITY PROGRAMME

Continuing education abroad may be one of the beneficial opportunities for a student. By continuing their studies in foreign countries, students will benefit greatly from their understanding of the history, culture of the country themselves, they will also understand the education system, and will improve the language skills and learn new languages through friendships with new friends, indirectly enhances communication capabilities.

OUTBOUND MOBILITY PROGRAMME

Every year, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) for numbers of outbound students are determined by the University’ Management to be fulfilled by each faculties and institutes. A Student Mobility Committee lead by Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International) are formed to look into policies of student mobility. An amount of fund are allocated by UPM to facilitate cross-border student mobility programme.
